As we get prepared in order to see 9-1-1 season 10 over on ABC, it does appear that one major change is coming. To be specific, it is a change with the appearance of one major character front and center.

In a new post on Instagram, Jennifer Love Hewitt has shared that moving into the next chapter of the story, Maddie is going to have a new, blonde look. This may just feel like a superficial thing on the surface, but there are actually a couple of deeper takeaways from this that are worth digging into more.

1. With a lot of major network shows out there, you often do see a real hesitancy to allow characters to look any different at all from one season to the next. This happened perhaps more on shows that are heavily syndicated, as episodes air out of order and it was harder to explain significant changes in appearance to people watching in that medium. We actually do love 9-1-1 trying to do something here that is a closer reflection to real life.

2. This does signal that there will likely be some sort of time jump early on this season, which should not be a shock since it benefits the Ryan Murphy production to be reasonably close to the present. You want to be able to do holiday episodes and the like, no? Hair colors are a way to show a natural passage of time, as people are inevitably going to be in a different spot than they were before.

In the end, our hope is that some more details regarding the premiere of 9-1-1 will surface over the course of the next few weeks. We are getting closer to a time in which that should happen.

What do you want to see from Maddie moving into 9-1-1 season 10 when it arrives?

Go ahead and let us know in the attached comments! Once you do just that, remember to come back — there are some other updates on the way.
