Chicago Fire season 15 will have new showrunner at NBC

While we know that a Chicago Fire season 15 is going to happen at NBC, it does appear as tough there are big changes behind the scenes.
According to a report coming in from Deadline, Andrea Newman is poised to exit her role as showrunner at the end of the season. This is a post that she has held for the past three seasons, but originally joined the series back in the pilot and has been a part of it ever since.

In a statement per the aforementioned publication, here is what Newman had to say:
“Working at Chicago Fire, with the absolute best cast and crew in the business, has been the highlight of my career … Like so many others, I was inspired to get into TV writing because of Dick [Wolf], so what a thrill it’s been to work with him and the amazing Wolf team of Peter Jankowski, Rebecca McGill and Anastasia Puglisi. I’m so grateful to them, Derek Haas and the NBC and Universal execs who have been so supportive of the show all along the way. After 14 years, you really do become a family and working with this group will always feel like home.”
As for the replacement, Wolf and company are going with someone familiar with the series already in co-executive producer Victor Teran. Showrunner changes are fairly common in long-running shows, in particular with the Wolf Entertainment universe. Every single series under his umbrella on NBC has experienced some sort of change when it comes to this position, so we cannot be shocked it is happening here. There are sometimes a few changes that come with a new boss behind the scenes, but the formula is often the star here more so than any individual.
