Gen V canceled at Prime Video; no season 3 for The Boys spin-off

After just two seasons on Prime Video, it appears as though we’ve reached the end of the line with The Boys’ spin-off Gen V.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the college-set series featuring Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, and many others will not be returning. Here is what executive producers Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg had to say on the subject:
“While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the Gen V characters’ stories in The Boys season five and other VCU projects on the horizon. You’ll see them again.”

In a way, you could argue that the writing was on the wall for this show for the past several months. Some of the executive producers have been working on other projects, and the same goes for at least a percentage of the cast. Sinclair has noted that Marie will be featured on The Boys season 5, but what happens beyond that? This is where there are still questions, given the simple fact that the only other series currently ordered is Vought Rising, which is presumably all set in the past. The Boys: Mexico appears to be close to a greenlight, but we tend to think that it is going to be its own separate story.
Could another spin-off be coming?
There is a reasonable chance of that but if it happens, we’re of a mindset now where we are probably not going to learn more about it until we get on the other side of the main show wrapping up. We hardly think that anyone is going to want to give some major details away.
