The Testaments season 1 episode 3: Is Daisy really Nichole?

Now that we have had a chance to see the first three episodes of The Testaments on Hulu, let’s go ahead and tackle a big question. Is there actually a chance here that Daisy is really Nichole, June’s other daughter in the world of the series?

Well, let’s just say that for the time being, there are reasons to suspect that this could be the case, especially due to the fact that there is a clear physical resemblance between Daisy and June. Also, a similar sort of rebellious streak that we have seen play out.

Now, here is where things get a little bit more confusing. Based on a number of comments that we’ve seen already, this show is set four years after the series finale of The Handmaid’s Tale. On paper, you can then argue that there is no way that Daisy and Nichole could be the same person in terms of their ages. However, could that just be retconned or explained away in some other way? You have to wonder, but then there is also this: If Daisy is not Nichole, then who is she?

Based at least on what we know at present, June seems to be especially invested in wanting to help this character, and she also does have a rather long history with her to a certain extent. She could have been someone else in the original Hulu series, even if she only appeared in a relatively short amount of time. For now we do tend to think that all possibilities are still on the table — and why wouldn’t there be?
