Rooster season 1 episode 5 promo: Ready for Connie Britton?

There are a few different reasons to be eager about when it comes to Rooster season 1 episode 5, with the emotional development of the characters high on the list.

For Greg in particular, though, we know that a lot is going to be different due to one simple reason: The presence of Connie Britton! The former American Horror Story / Friday Night Lights star is going to be here as Greg’s ex and Katie’s mother. What does this mean? Well, a lot of this show so far has revolved around the idea of how one is presented to others, and we tend to think that whatever progresses Greg and Katie both have made is about to have a few bumps in the road.

If you head over to the link here, you can see the new Rooster promo that brings some of these issues to the forefront. Also, we learn a few different things about Greg’s ex here in just a short period of time. For starters, she is clearly rather successful in its own right. However, Greg seems to hold her responsible for destroying one of his friendships. Suffice it to say, this relationship is still far from perfect, and we are not sure that a limited amount of time here is going to change things. Why would we ever make that assumption at this point?

In the end, the most important thing is that we continue to get sucked into this world. However, at the same time, we have to hope that there are chances for progress and/or conflict the rest of the way. We do tend to think that we will be getting more laughs, as well — through all of the conflict, isn’t this still a comedy?
