Yesterday, the absolutely fantastic news was first around that Dexter: Resurrection season 2 has found its New York Ripper; not only that, but he will be played by Brian Cox! When you consider everything that we’ve come to know about this character (otherwise known as Don Framt) already, it makes perfect sense for them to be played by the one-time star of Succession. He has a huge presence and ultimately, that has not changed even though the man is no longer killing.

If you watched and remember the first season pretty thoroughly at this point, then you may know a good bit of who this guy is, let alone the fact that he has actually been done killing for a while. Yet, isn’t it nice to get some sort of official description, as well?

Well, if you look below, you can see how the powers-that-be are referring to Cox’s character at present:

The New York Ripper is a serial killer who terrorized the City years ago. Though no longer active as a killer, he’s found a new way to live in his infamy by continuing to taunt the survivors of his long-ago murder spree.

There are so many questions we have about Framt right now, beginning with the fact that somehow, he managed to keep his identity secret from police for so many years. Yet, Leon Prater knew about him and never gave up his name. Does that mean he was in his club of killers? What was the connection there? We are sure that through Dexter Morgan, at least some of this will start to become clearer.
