Grey’s Anatomy season 22 finale date set; what to expect

As many of you out there may know already, the end of Grey’s Anatomy season 22 is going to be especially emotional — and for one simple reason. Based on some recent announcements, it appears as though this story will serve as a goodbye to two longtime series regulars in Kevin McKidd (Owen) to go along with Kim Raver (Teddy).
How will the two depart? Early indicators suggest that this is not going to be the most devastating conclusion ever, so we’re hoping that they give a chance to move forward and be happy. Yet, at the same time this is a show where we never view anything as certain, and it would be silly to do that now.

So here is at least some of what we can say now regarding a finale date. ABC has confirmed that the last episode of season 22 is coming on Thursday, May 7 at the standard 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and it will be joined by its timeslot companions from the 9-1-1 franchise. There is no synopsis out there for it yet, though we would certainly not be too shocked in the event we saw an appearance from Ellen Pompeo at some point in here. We know that there is more Meredith to come this season, and it makes sense for her to help send off two characters who have been a part of the world for a really long period of time.
Will there also be a cliffhanger? That’s something that we would at least anticipate for now given the history of Grey’s Anatomy delivering such things. When has production not wanted to give you something to be excited about? We are happy to know already that a season 23 is coming.
