The Testaments EP on Chase Infiniti, Elisabeth Moss comparisons

The Testaments season 1

After a great deal of waiting The Testaments is going to arrive on Hulu later this month. Are you ready for more of this world and these stories?

Because Gilead itself can be so depressing and devastating to watch, these are shows that are in some ways reliant in the characters and performances to carry the day. Just like you rooted for June on The Handmaid’s Tale, you have to root for Agnes / Hannah here to make the journey worthwhile. That is a lot of pressure on Chase Infiniti as the lead, but we do think she is capable of pulling it off. She was great in the first season of Presumed Innocent, and that was before her breakout role arrived courtesy of One Battle After Another.

So what made Infiniti stand out to the crew here right away? Well, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Bruce Miller was quick to make a comparison to the original lead here in Elisabeth Moss:

“She was unpredictable. I didn’t know what she was going to do — not in a scary way, but I just didn’t have any idea what she was going to say, if she was going to go left or right … And as a person, she’s that way too. She’s delightful, but you don’t know if she’s going to say if she wants chocolate or vanilla ice cream, and no matter how much I get to know her, I don’t think I’m going to know, which is wonderful. It was the same thing with Elisabeth Moss; she’s not volatile, but she is unpredictable.”

We recognize that The Testaments may be different in that you are seeing the story through a fresh said of eyes, but this is Gilead, and there are still terrible things happening. The best thing you can do is be prepared for all sorts of twists.
