NCIS season 23 episode 15 promo: Any movement on Director story?

Next week is set to bring NCIS season 23 episode 15 on the air and based on the promo, we already know what one clear focus is going to be: A treasure hunt.

Ultimately, we have a feeling that we’re set up for something really fun here as we have a classic adventure story, one where someone could end up being killed just because of what they’re hunting down. If you are watching this show for some lighthearted fun, everything we’re seeing in terms of the preview suggests that you are going to get that and then some.

Now that we’ve said that, let’s go ahead and pose another big question here: Are we going to learn something more about the next Director? In episode 14, it was strongly suggested that we are going to see a rotating number of people before a firm decision is made, and that could very-much prove to be the case. Yet, what we’re curious to learn more about here is whether McGee or any other character will start lobbying for the position.

While none of this is mentioned directly in the promo, our general sentiment right now is pretty simple: This is something that the show will figure out by the finale. Either this will set up a new series regular for the already-renewed season 24, or we are going to be seeing some sort of shake-up within the team. Who knows? This could be the cliffhanger! It would be at least a change from the classic end where you see a life in danger and you’re left to wonder for most of the summer if they are going to make it through.
