Survivor 50 episode 2 preview: The odd Vatu challenge

As we do look ahead to Survivor 50 episode 2 on CBS in just a few days, we know the purple Vatu tribe is in an incredibly strange spot. After all, Kyle was just medically evacuated from the game and despite him being a former winner, you could argue that he had already pulled apart some of his threat level. He had formed a legitimately great bond with a number of other cast members and even with his injury, he likely would have been safe had his group gone to Tribal Council.

With him gone, everything on this tribe changes — and that is without even mentioning the lost votes that are completely going to decimate the primary alliance.

After all, consider that Kyle, Q, Colby, Stephenie, and Genevieve seemed to be in total control of this group. Meanwhile, Colby and Rizo had grown closer and that meant that Aubry and Angelina were sitting on the bottom. However, here is the problem now: Both Colby and Rizo have lost their votes based on twists that were incorporated in the premiere. This means that Stephenie and Genevieve are the only two people left of this group that actually have any power. Aubry and Angelina may be able to get their way out of a pickle if the group loses immunity, and Rizo suddenly serves as a swing vote.

(Remember that Genevieve technically found an immunity idol, but it is the Boomerang idol that she had to give over to someone on another tribe — Ozzy, to be specific.)

If there is a case to be made that modern-day Survivor has too many twists, this is absolutely it. Q made a decision without knowing it would impact his entire tribe. Meanwhile, Colby just simply was outplayed by Savannah.
