‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 5: Nina Dobrev, Tyler Posey score Power of Youth honor
Even though Nina Dobrev and Tyler Posey may star on separate shows all about the supernatural world, they have still found a way to come together in order to celebrate something very specific: Showing that young people in the entertainment industry can do big things in order to give back to the world.
In an announcement that was retweeted by the “Vampire Diaries” actress this weekend, Nina is joining the “Teen Wolf” star along with Abigail Breslin, Jake T. Austin of ABC Family’s “The Fosters,” and “Beasts of the Southern Wild” star Quvenzhane Wallis as Variety’s Power of Youth honorees this year. The group will be recognized fully courtesy of a ceremony that is happening on July 27, after the CW drama picks up filming in Atlanta.
July as a whole is turning out to be a supremely jam-packed month for Nina. In addition to taking part in this event and also filming the show, much of the “Vampire Diaries” cast will be heading to Comic-Con the weekend of July 19-21 in order to take part in a lively panel discussion about the show, which is hopefully where some more details will be unveiled as to what college life for Elena Gilbert will be. The characters on this show are indeed growing up, and this is a similar sort of struggle ironically to what Posey’s “Teen Wolf” character of Scott is going to be going through very soon.
