The Pitt season 2 episode 6: Did Louie live or die?

We knew that heading into The Pitt season 2 episode 6, we were going to get a certain amount of closure when it comes to one person in particular in Louie. He is the beloved patient who has been a part of both seasons, and is who the doctors refer to as a “frequent flier.” In this job, if is easy to get cynical when you find yourself in similar positions time and time again treating patients. However, almost everyone at the hospital had a larger connection with Louie, and that is what made this story all the more emotional.
In the closing minutes, it was revealed that Louie did in fact die following the episode 5 cliffhanger, and that led to a story that was largely about caring for him after the fact. Dana and Emma worked to clean up his body so that he would be suitable for viewing. Meanwhile, many doctors paid their respects and in the process, learned a little bit more about his past.

As it turned out, Louie never recovered from losing the love of his life and his child in a car accident many years in the past, and his drinking was a way to distract from that pain. Robby was seemingly the only one who knew the full story, and that speaks a lot to the amount of time he has worked within this hospital.
We do also think that losing this patient is going to bring up a lot of emotions in the physicians as a whole here. Take, for example, Langdon losing someone he knew well shortly after coming back. Or, Dana continuing to question why she does this job, given just how hard it is a lot of the time.
