The ‘Burbs season 2: Is it renewed, canceled at Peacock?

Following the launch of the first season today on Peacock, is there a chance that The ‘Burbs season 2 is going to happen? Or, have we reached the end of the line for it already?
Well, we should say that first and foremost, it is a curious decision to put the reboot starring Keke Palmer on the schedule the same day as the Super Bowl. However, we also tend to think it was an intentional choice so that it could be used as a measure of cross-promotion. Since NBC is broadcasting the big game, that does give them an opportunity to promote it as much as possible.

If you are not familiar with the story of the show here, let’s just start by sharing the official synopsis now:
Set in present-day suburbia, The ‘Burbs follows a young couple returning to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when new neighbors move in next door, bringing old secrets of the cul-de-sac to light, and new deadly threats shatter the illusion of their quiet little neighborhood.
Now is there going to be a chance for something more here? Well, for the time being we are putting that under the category of “too early to tell.” A lot will depend on viewership and getting the word out — typically, performance over the first couple of weeks matters more than anything else, especially since it indicates that there would be an almost immediate demand for more. We tend to think that so long as the story is successful, there is almost always going to be an eagerness to get more at some point down the road.
How long does Peacock have to figure it out? Let’s just say that at least for now, there is no real reason to think that it is going to be rushed. Why would it? They have months to look at what the overall numbers are.
