Heading into The Pitt season 2 episode 4 on HBO Max later this week, we certainly feel like things are about to go from bad to worse.

After all, just consider what we learned about a nearby hospital in Westbridge over the course of this past episode: They have declared a Code Black, a situation where local systems have caused them to be completely overrun. There are patients being rushed now to Robby and company, and that means they could be getting a larger influx of people coming into the ER in the relatively near future.

Because of this Code Black, we do tend to think there are a couple of questions to wonder.

1. What caused the problems at the other hospital? We have heard that a targeted cyber attack could be a part of the story on The Pitt this season and for now, this has to be something that you watch out for / worry about at the same exact time. Seeing what becomes of all this could prove to be one of the more interesting stories to watch this time around.

2. How will Robby deal with it? Through a lot of this season so far, what we have seen is a situation where Noah Wyle’s character is just trying to make it through the day. He has a sabbatical on the other side, and we’ll admit already that one of our central concerns is that he is trying to just assume this is going to be the thing that automatically makes it all better. In reality, what he has to do is go through the real work on his trauma, and we’re not sure that he is looking to make that happen.
