‘Criminal Minds’ season 9 spoilers: Kirsten Vangsness on hopes for Garcia
It’s never too early to read some “Criminal Minds” scoop, right? With that in mind, let’s hope that you are ready to celebrate your Independence Day with some of the latest via a star that took a little bit of time to sign on for the ninth season of the hit CBS drama: Kirsten Vangsness. Her character of Garcia could have a pretty intriguing storyline moving forward the rest of the way, and it should be getting the chance to see her diver deeper into the world of dating, and really find herself as a person.
Speaking in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, it is for this reason that the actress explains that she would like to see more of Kevin on this coming season, just to continue breaking away from the stereotype of what people generally do expect her character to be:
“I really like the storyline of her having another guy and her ex being upset … I like that she gets so much action, so I really hope they continue that. The nerdy girls aren’t typically the ones you see dating. They’re usually holed up in their batcaves.”
As for the reason that Vangsness is expressing hope rather than confidence about the future of her character’s story, the simple reason is that she simply does not know what the future holds just yet. If the actors have been shown scripts thus far, it is only for the early episodes of the season.
What do you want to see unfold for this Garcia character on the rest of “Criminal Minds” this coming season? We want to hear all of your thoughts with a comment below! I’d like to see her ask for a raise or promotion. Just weave into any story line how valuable she is to the team and then have her team rally behind her to get a title promotion and raise.

Kirsten, if moving forward is the goal, then dropping Kevin permanently would hasten things. Hanging around just doesn’t cut it. I’d love to see a less “ickyfied” Penelope, stronger, and willing to go the distance to maintain her integrity. But by all means we need the super cool, funny and bright Garcia to remain.
