Landman season 3 spoilers: Will this Ainsley story return?
If there is anything that we know with confidence in regards to Landman on Paramount+, it is that it will be controversial. This is how it has been from the very beginning and at this point, we hardly believe that it is going to change.
With that being said, sometimes the show does at least try to flip the controversy in some unexpected directions. Case in point — what we’ve seen in the past two episodes with Paigyn. This is a character that in their debut, was written in a frustrating and stereotypical manner, largely a checklist of what the show’s viewers would imagine a non-binary person to be. However, in episode 10 there was greater depth; not only that, but they shared a couple of moments with Ainsley as the two were there for each other. It brought more humanity into the role, and we hope that this is something that continues.

Speaking to Deadline, Bobbi Salvör Menuez (who plays the character) indicated that while they are unsure of their character’s future, but would love to come back:
I have no idea what’s happening for Season 3, and my hope is that I get to be a part of it. I can’t say, one way or the other at this time, but I love getting to see that pivot from these two people who have really different life experiences, clearly started off on the worst foot, and people are triggering each other in all directions. And to me, that first interaction isn’t the only truth of a person in real life, and so of course, that’s not the only truth of the character. So, it’s really nice to suddenly in the finale, have that dimensionality sort of open up, where the reality of one another’s humanity just becomes so much more obvious, and then, the playing field is leveled. And it’s like, “Wait, actually, let’s try again.”
The easiest comparison you can make with this character and the greater Taylor Sheridan world is Summer over on Yellowstone — someone who was initially presented one way before more layers started to become evident. We can only hope that is also the case here.
