‘White Collar’ season 5 spoilers: Matt Bomer as a different kind of fireman
In some ways, we like to think of the following “White Collar” scoop as a public service announcement: Matt Bomer is about to start fighting some fires again. Prepare yourselves accordingly.
Okay, first of all, we should make this clear that this is not the same sort of fireman antics that we saw in “Magic Mike.” This is “White Collar,” a much more serious show, and Bomer’s not going to be so cheesy as to repeat the same thing twice in order to get an easy laugh. While details are somewhat vague, Entertainment Weekly reports that the firefighter suit will play a part the sixth episode of the upcoming season. We imagine that there’s some sort of shady character that needs to be sniffed out, and having him go undercover (as done many times before) is a great way to do that.
In some other “White Collar” casting news, the report also mentions that the show is currently on the hunt for a crackerjack crisis reporter, which in our mind is never a good thing. Why? Reporters try to uncover secrets, and there are plenty of times on this show when there are secrets that don’t really need to be found out. Also, there are just some things that are too depressing for characters to deal with on their own, and it would be rather distressing if they ended up being available to others. (Right now, Peter’s having the biggest crisis of all … he’s behind bars.)
This is not the only interesting “White Collar” story coming up when season 5 premieres on USA this coming fall. There will also be a story involving a figure skater and her boyfriend that brings someone from “The Americans” into the mix.
