The Pitt season 2 episode 2: Noah Wyle on Robby, Langdon rift

If you are wondering if there is any way to repair the relationship between Robby and Langdon on The Pitt season 2, we do think it is possible. However, at the same time, it is not going to be altogether easy. This is at least in part due to Robby’s feelings towards himself, and he may need to face that before we can ever really approach his protegee after what happened in season 1.
So far this season, Noah Wyle’s character has a pretty simple strategy — out of sight, out of mind. In the end, though, that may only work here for so long.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Wyle (who is also a writer / executive producer on the series) notes that there is so much going on within Robby heading into episode 2, whether it be guilt or even jealousy:
“Robby feels that he failed Langdon, as a mentor and as an attending … And … Langdon represents somebody who’s actually gone off and done the work and faced their demons and done the therapeutic process and come back clear-headed and clear-hearted. And to somebody who has not begun that process, that feels a bit like kryptonite.”
We’ve seen already how Robby has struggled time and time again to let go of what happened to him in the past, and it reared its head in a number of ways during season 1. You can argue that the upcoming sabbatical he has will serve as a means of getting over these demons but at the same time, it is hard to fully know that for sure! While he has given a small explanation as to where he is going, isn’t there a lot more to unpack?
