‘Saturday Night Live’: Jason Sudeikis sounds like he’s actually leaving

Saturday Night Live LogoDo we finally have the long-coveted scoop that Jason Sudeikis is going to be leaving “Saturday Night Live” after about a decade of service? We just don’t know why he just does not come out and say at this point, one way or another, since there has been so much speculation at this point without much room for actual answers.

Sudeikis gave his newest response on the subject of his future as a part of a new interview with Modern Luxury, where he hinted that it was the last year that he wanted to take part in the show and accomplished what he wanted to (which strangely included that “Maine Justice” sketch that was not particularly great in the first place):

“You never really leave that place, and it never leaves you. It’s an emotional journey getting through a season, much less the final one … Last year felt like just the right amount of thought went into [the decision to stay on for another season], and there were things that I was hoping to accomplish. I don’t know if I have the same checklist of things I need to cross off now.”

If Sudeikis is indeed gone, this only furthers the enormous quagmire that “SNL” is in moving into the fall season. They now have three full-time male cast members to replace, another one in Seth Meyers in the spring, and quite possibly Nasim Pedrad at some point, if her sitcom with John Mulaney (which was not picked up by NBC) finds a new home at Fox. This is quite a few holes to fill in a pretty short amount of time, so we envision Lorne Michaels in his office, working overtime, drinking copious amounts of coffee or Red Bull to try and make something happen when it comes to this show.

Do you think that this is finally proof that we are saying goodbye to Sudeikis, or do you genuinely believe that the door has been left open just a crack yet again? We want to hear more of your thoughts below! If you do want to read what Fred Armisen had to say recently upon his exit from the show, all you have to do is visit the story over at the link here.
