‘Criminal Minds’ season 9 spoilers: What’s you’ll see (and won’t see) moving forward

When “Criminal Minds” season 9 picks up this fall on CBS, we are going to see some changes in the world of some of our characters. In a way, this is inevitable when you lose a member of the team like Stauss, given that it changes the corporate landscape and forces some folks to find a new leader.

But when it comes to romance, there are also some other things that will need to change. For example, with Stauss gone, is Rossi going to find himself a new love interest? Don’t count on it. Speaking in a chat with TV Guide, showrunner Erica Messer claims that we will see the character stay single for the immediate future, which is a good thing for the sake of viewers who don’t want to start yelling that any one person is “moving on too fast.” However, she also did not rule out the possibility of you meeting one of the character’s ex-wives.

Also, Messer proclaimed that you will not be seeing Reid dive much into the dating pool this time around, either:

“He feels like he’s still with Maeve and that would feel like a betrayal to Maeve, so we’re not going to go there this year.”

Will this sort of status stay this way forever when it comes to these “Criminal Minds” characters? Probably not, given that there is still plenty of time left on the show, and we figure that there will be some sort of growth or evolution before the end. However, some things do take time, and we believe that these things include trying to create distance between one relationship and the next.
