Is Abbott Elementary new tonight on ABC? Given that the Quinta Brunson series has had a rather elaborate run on the network as of late, we understand the desire for more of the show now.

Unfortunately, this is also where we have to burst in with a reminder that as good as it would be to have more now, we do not always get what we want. There is no new episode of the show tonight and instead, the plan appears to be to bring it back on Wednesday, December 3. It is off this week for the CMAs and next week, you are at the day before Thanksgiving. There are still two more episodes coming in 2025, with the December 10 one functioning both as a holiday installment as well as the fall finale.

So what more can we say about the future of Abbott Elementary? Well, if you look below, you can see synopses for the next two episodes…

Season 5 episode 7, “Goofgirl” (December 3) – A new member joins Gregory’s Garden Goofballs, and Janine pitches a new club idea to Ava.

Season 5 episode 8, “Birthday” (December 10) – Jacob takes the lead on organizing Abbott’s annual winter show, and Janine celebrates her 30th birthday.

In general, we do think that there is a lot of great stuff to look forward to here from the comedy, but as a reminder, continue to watch live if you want to see more of the show! Perhaps more than any other program out there on network TV, this is one that deserves to go on for as long as the creative team wants it to. There are few others within this medium that have the same sort of combination of critical and commercial success.
