‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ review: Jacqueline Laurita faces real drama

Real Housewives of New JerseyIn some of our “Real Housewives of New Jersey” episode reviews over the past several weeks, we have planted the vast majority of our emphasis on complaining all about the likes of Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice and their near-constant fighting.

However, we do want to start now by talking about something that is actually real and rather painful: Jacqueline Laurita’s struggles with her son’s autism. Her child is someone that she clearly loves, and her frustration does not come out of a place of disparagement. It is merely that feeling when you really want something to work and you want someone to be completely and totally happy, but there is still nothing you can do to help them. Helplessness is scary, especially when you are probably accustomed to having so much going your way.

We do want to talk about Melissa for what may very well be the most hypocritical story of all time. She’s talking intensely about how she does not want to embarrass or sell out her family by disclosing the truth about her father in a book that she is writing; however, she is still talking about it on TV! You’re giving your family no choice but to go along with it!

Melissa and Joe did have a heated heart-to-heart briefly about what happened with him and the gym, while Teresa ended up really getting into it with Rosie Pierri over the whole ordeal. Since this is the story that never ends, it may just be better to deal with it a little later down the road.
