‘White Collar’ season 5 spoilers: ‘The Americans’ regular joins Matt Bomer series as…
Even though Annet Mahendru still has plenty of work coming her way on FX’s “The Americans” following her recent promotion to series regular as Nina, the actress will at least be taking a little bit of time during her hiatus to pop up elsewhere for a pretty intriguing role.
According to TVLine, Mahendru will guest-star on the upcoming sixth episode of “White Collar” season 5 playing the role of Katya, a talented Russian figure skater who shows great potential of qualifying for the Olympics. So what seems to be the issue here? While USA has not released many details about the episode, “Continuum’s” Mike Dopud is also appearing here as a Russian gangster. Therefore, it’s easy to surmise that there is a possible international incident here, and Matt Bomer’s Neal Caffrey is going to be called upon to help figure all of this out. As for whether or not Tim DeKay’s Peter joins him, that will depend on if Neal can find a way to get him out of prison by that time.
We know that the wait for more “White Collar” is almost insufferable at this point, given that we are so accustomed to having new episodes in the summer, and this time, the show is making us wait until after many new series premiere on the major networks in the fall. Given the sense of fast-paced electricity that was there throughout the latter part of season 4, we’re hoping that it will in fact be worth the wait. Our personal opinion is that getting all of these assorted casting scoops always helps to ease the pain somewhat.
