AMC’s ‘The Killing’ season 3, episode 1 preview: These streets are creepy
In watching the second sneak peek from Sunday night’s two-hour season premiere of “The Killing,” there is one thought that almost instantly rushes through our mind: The folks at AMC are really trying to make this as creepy as humanly possible.
The video tragically does not give anything away, at least other than the fact that the streets of Seattle are an extremely creepy and not exactly safe place to be. We’ve heard already that one of the goals of this season is to focus on the city’s nasty underbelly, and show something in teen homelessness that is hardly ever touched on in the television medium.
There is really only one focus here character-wise, though you could really count the city streets themselves as a character. They are dark, cold, and of course rainy (as this is Seattle that we are talking about here). As you would expect given the name on this show, there is also the potential for murder at every turn.
For Linden and Holder this season, one of their challenges is going to be trying to infiltrate a community that is not particularly friendly to outsiders. They do not welcome in a huge array of people, and friendliness is certainly not one of the qualities that they are best known for. Can these two manage to turn things around and solve a case? They are going to need to, and there will only be a limited amount of time to do so.
