‘Doctor Who’ season 8: What former James Bond would love to appear?
We all know that James Bond is one of the most-popular characters in the history of entertainment, but who ever imagined that we would see something so interesting or serendipitous as seeing someone behind the iconic character eventually end up drawing interest in a future gig on “Doctor Who” via Twitter of all places?
Here is how this crazy (and entertaining) story began. In a post on Twitter, “Sherlock” co-creator Mark Gatiss praised Sir Roger Moore for his work in the movie “The Man Who Haunted Himself.” This was quickly led to the legendary actor replying with an interesting message of his own:
“thank you. I might be equally wonderful in Dr Who or Sherlock if asked!”
Gatiss replied by saying that someone would be “in touch” with him soon. (In case you are wondering where the “Doctor Who” – “Sherlock” connection fits in, both are series done by Steven Moffat.)
Could we see Moore stepping into either world beautifully? Almost without a doubt. The thing is that if you are a talented-enough actor, there really is no question that you can play almost any role that is put in front of you. Considering that Moore definitely fits the bill here, and is in the top half of one of the greatest Bond actors of all time, we would love to see this happen. While “Sherlock” is a tough series given that there are so few episodes of it filmed a year, “Doctor Who” will start shooting some more season 8 episodes in just a matter of months.
What do you think about the idea of Moore playing a part in an upcoming “Doctor Who” season? If you want to hear some more of what a few select “Doctor Who” alumni have to say about the upcoming 50th anniversary, be sure to head on over to the link here.
