‘Psych’ season 7 finale spoilers: Are Shawn and Gus in trouble?
While there may not be too much in the way of new programming airing within the next week, USA is going to be waving goodbye to season 7 of “Psych” with an episode entitled “No Trout About It.” So what’s the story here? Shawn and Gus have to defend themselves, and ultimately try to keep the department from falling victim to a new authoritative figure (played by Anthony Michael Hall) who sweeps in and vows to make some pretty big changes to the way in which business is done.
You can see some of what we’re talking about in the video below, where Hall’s Trout is labeled a new police chief, threatens to fire everyone, and also says to Shawn and Gus that they are no longer hiring psychic detectives. There’s also a memorable twist on the great “suck it” line that will probably make you watch this more than once.
We don’t want to tease too much right now save for what’s in the video, but we have already seen the episode and will for now leave you with this: It’s a pretty big game-changer for a show that has largely done things the same way for quite a long time. If season 8 does end up being the end (which seems pretty likely at the moment, given that Maggie Lawson’s “Back in the Game” pilot over at USA got picked up), the show is going to have a pretty good story that could carry them through all of the final 13 episodes.
For those of you wondering when the music episode is going to happen, you’ll be waiting until fall. Hopefully, this will be enough to keep you excited until then.
