‘The X Factor’ USA / UK notes: Fifth Harmony, Emblem3, and Little Mix
Now that we are through with what we like to refer to as judge-sanity for “The X Factor” (especially since Simon Cowell is now back in England to prepare for the “Britain’s Got Talent” live semifinals), we can now focus solely on what so many of you are the most interested in hearing news about: Your favorite acts from the two versions of the show. The stories may be brief, but they serve as a nice way to stay up to speed on what is going on for the shows leading into the new year.
Fifth Harmony – Want to vote on the ladies as the “X Factor” act with the biggest potential to have a strong summer? There’s a poll over on Billboard that the ladies themselves have been pushing the past few weeks. Right now, their biggest challenge in achieving this goal is not having a single out … but we have a feeling this will change by the time the summer is over.
Emblem3’s video tease – The boys from California (by way of Washington) have a big music video launch for “Chloe” coming up in a matter of days, and you can watch a preview for it over on BuzzNet. It’s a pretty funny video that shows off the guys’ personality, and also the relaxed sort of vibe that they are going for with their whole Team Inspire message.
A reminder from Little Mix – These ladies have a major release coming out of their own in America in their debut album “DNA.” We’re curious to see how this sells, given that there has not been a girl group quite like them in America in over a decade. Even when Fifth Harmony’s album does come out, their music is likely more pop-oriented rather than urban. We’ll keep a close watch on this one.
