‘Duck Dynasty,’ ‘Swamp People’ casts face off in impromptu ‘Family Feud’ (video)
There are victories, and then there are sometimes moral victories. When it comes to the cast of the series “Swamp People,” we are not entirely sure that it was in their best interest to actually admit to having a knowledge as to who the Kardashian family really is.
On Katie Couric’s daytime talk show this past week, the “Swamp People” guys squared off in a game of “Family Feud” against another famous reality TV clan from the same region: The Robertson family from “Duck Dynasty,” in particular Willie, Phil, Jase, and Jep. When it comes to ratings, there’s no question on this end as to who is the more dominant one of the bunch. However, this game was all about how well you know random topics, including memorable quotes from your own show, states in the Gulf Coast region, and names of the Kardashian siblings.
Yes, the “Swamp People” group did win, but we are pretty sure that they lost all of their dignity in the process. So what is this video really proof of: That the cast of this show secretly goes off an watches E! at night, or that the entire Kardashian media disease has spread all of the way to rural parts of the swamp.
We can’t really figure that “Duck Dynasty” has anything to be sad about, even in losing this game. Willie was recently invited to the White House Correspondents Dinner, his show actually beat “American Idol” in the 18-49 demographic at a number of points this past year, and there is no sign that “Duck Dynasty” will slow down anytime soon. It is still unclear when season 4 will premiere, though, as the official renewal just came in earlier this month after negotiations.
