‘Britain’s Got Talent’ preview: Le Quebrada dives; Alesha Dixon flirts
Let’s try to start off this “Britain’s Got Talent” article with at least a little bit of honesty. More often than not, this is typically around the time in which we start to become bored with the prospect of seeing the same sort of acts audition for the show time and time again, and we just want to move on to the next round. However, there’s something about Simon Cowell’s kooky competition that keeps us thoroughly engaged. Maybe it is the nature of the variety, or the mere fact that we are totally in awe of the judging panel’s chemistry.
In talking about the two videos below from Saturday’s new episode, you really have to begin with this very thing. After all, judge Alesha Dixon seems to love the boys, and just as importantly, they all seem to love her back. What we are seeing here is basically a montage of her hitting on some guys, and in turn some guys hitting on her. She was apparently single at the time of the auditions, so more power to her.
Meanwhile, we also have to talk about an act that is completely new to us as viewers of both the British and American versions of the show: Divers Le Quebrada. Their talent is basically doing stunt dives from ridiculously crazy heights, including one in which a guy gets set on fire. It may be the most insane thing that we have ever seen anyone do, since one flinch or waiting too long could mean the end of your life. Then again, we’re the average cynical TV viewer, which means that we live for the moments when people put themselves at risk of death or maiming for something as silly as airtime on a talent competition.
The ratings just keep rising for this show (we blame David Walliams), so we’ll also be sure to check out all weekend long whether or not this episode hits another high.
