‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2 spoilers: Jay Ryan on possibilities, Gabe’s fate

Beauty and the BeastHave you had the opportunity to digest Thursday night’s “Beauty and the Beast” finale just yet? We hope so. The CW series closed the door on season 1 with some stunning revelations, and also a battle for the ages between the beasts that nearly led to a major loss of life. When it comes to Jay Ryan’s character of Vincent, though, he is likely going to be in a precarious position almost immediately based on his capture at the end of the episode.

So what does the actor have to say about his possible season 2 storyline? We are still very early in the process (a given, considering that no scripts have even been written yet), but Ryan still told TVLine at the network upfront presentation Thursday that there are some ideas already on the table considering the elusive time jump:

“I don’t think they have decided yet, but I would love to come back for Season 2 and have it be, like, five months have passed, so there will have been this huge ordeal he’s undergone with the people who captured him.”

As for the fate of Gabe, Ryan did not know for 100% certain that the character was going to live into the new season, but he also felt that him being a beast alone would probably be enough to help him recover from some of his injuries. Plus, having him around made for a more dynamic, dramatic, and exciting show over the second half of the year.

There are some definite changes coming for “Beauty and the Beast” season 2, with the most-obvious one being that the show will be airing on Monday nights (a far less cushy time-slot) rather than Thursdays after “The Vampire Diaries.” That spot is instead being handed over to the costume drama “Reign.”
