‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Candice Glover, and (yep) Psy
We’ll get this out of the way to kick off our new “American Idol” notes straight from the get-go: Psy will be performing in the finale. Some of you will probably be doing one of those ridiculous dances around your room (which we are aware makes us sound a bit like an old man), and our guess is that “Gentleman” will be a central part of it. It’s possible that he could also revive “Gangnam Style,” even if he’s tried to spend most of 2013 putting it to bed.
Now, let’s talk contestants past and present.
Jessica Sanchez on “Today” – Check out the season 11 star performing an acoustic version of her new single “Tonight” on “The Today Show.” It’s certainly a thrill to see her finally getting some press for what we thought was a radio-ready song, even if it has yet to make much of an impact on the radio (though that seems to be a deliberate move on Interscope’s part).
We can really put this rather bluntly: If you love anything and everything that Jessica has done to this point, you are probably also going to love this. (Kind of a weird pronunciation of her last name from the Fourth-Hour hosts, no?)
Keith Urban predicts Candice win -For the time being, Keith is staying mum on whether or not he is going to be back on the show for season 13. He spoke with former judge Ellen DeGeneres recently and at times it seemed almost like he would be back, but also like he would be leaving. (He did joke that he would replace Randy Jackson on the panel next year.)
Keith also claimed that Candice Glover probably had the “edge” right now when it comes to who will win the show, but (of course) admitted that this is still anyone’s game between her and Kree Harrison to take the title home.
Want to know what Kree and Candice are actually performing for the big show? We have an answer for you here, and based on all evidence we have heard, we’re going to be in for quite a couple of big performances.
