‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 9 spoilers: Cristin Milioti and the mystery ahead

Let us start off this “How I Met Your Mother” article with a pretty enormous warning: If you want to avoid spoilers on the season finale that aired Monday night, now is the time to stop reading.

At this point, we finally know just who the mother finally is after so much time waiting: Cristin Milioti. So who is she? Unless you follow the stage show “Once,” you probably have not heard of her. However, she does have a resume that includes such entries as “The Good Wife” and “The Sopranos,” and it is only a matter of time now before we start to figure out a little bit more about how she landed this gig, and whether or not the producers had her in mind for some time. (Some interviews will probably come up in the next few days.)

Of course, the question now is how this character will be implemented into the new season. Will the premiere be when Ted finally meets the future love of his life? It’s certainly possible, but at the same time, this still seems like something that is best kept for the series finale. There is a unique idea that the show has for the last 24 episodes, but you’re going to be waiting for a while in order to find out all the answers. (One strategy is to keep all details on the new season under wraps, that way to keep people actually interested in watching for the months ahead.)
