‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Carly Rose Sonenclar, Fifth Harmony, Demi Lovato
Thanks in part to the near-impossible attempt to actually check every box out there when it comes to the world of renewals / cancellations, we really have not had too much of an opportunity to dive headfirst into an “X Factor” story. Now, that changes with gossip over record deals, judges, and Demi Lovato performing at a place that seems to worship one-time Disney stars like Simon Cowell does reruns of “The Flintstones.” (Look it up, people!)
Carly’s record status – We begin with what has to be the #1 question that we are asked time and time again by Carly Rose Sonenclar fans: When is her record deal happening? The simple answer here is, quite frankly, that nobody really knows. She wants it to happen, but there’s a difference between desire and telepathically willing something to pass.
Carly sums up the whole situation better than we could hope in a chat with HollywoodLife:
“[Basically], the first step was getting signed to Simon Cowell‘s company (Syco Entertainment) . Now from here on, it’s about finding the right team, getting in the studio, keeping my fans engaged.”
This, dear friends, is why Carly keeps making cover videos: To keep people excited while she works on getting a deal locked down.
Fifth Harmony on judging rumors – There are two interesting things that come out of this new Fifth Harmony interview with “Access Hollywood.” One, the ladies admits that they are almost done with their new album, which is fantastic since we have heard approximately zero percent of what their new music is. When asked about possible new changes to the judging panel, Normani manages to slip the name “Kelly Rowland” in there while some of the other ladies talked about the likes of Beyonce or Justin Timberlake. We don’t know if it’ll happen, but we wager that Normani has a good shot at being right. In our mind, Kelly’s the favorite right now to land the job alongside Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell.
Speaking of Demi, a quick note to all you Toronto fans (wow, that makes us sound like a DJ): She will be performing at the MuchMusic Video Awards, otherwise known as the MMVAs, on June 16. Some U.S. cable providers are lucky enough to have the channel, and if you’re in Canada, lucky you. Don’t worry: If you miss the show, MuchMusic will repeat it about 200 times over the following week.
In crossing over to the British show for a second, have you heard who the new judge is going to be? Here’s a hint: You’ve seen her around the show before.

Tate Stevens 1st 2 singles are FLOPs and his debut self title is going to flop as well. He’s going the way of Melanie Amario. Looks like 5th Harmony could do better than the winner Tate Stevens. Hopefully, sweetie Carly Rose can get something out there soon. Not sure what her genre would be?

Anna…I’m not saying a record producer is going to let a 14 year old DECIDE the sound of her record. What I am saying is that there will be some original music on her first album and that’s not coming from me, that’s coming from Carly and interviews she’s done. She’s been very clear that some of the songs she’s recorded for her first album are original songs she’s written or have co-written. And, she’s also said there’s a good possibility that one of the songs she will perform during her concert will be an original. So, pay attention to what she’s communicating to her fans before you think “y’all are crazy” claims for her recording original music. In fact, she completed the recording on an original song prior to going on the X Factor and I guarantee that song ends up on her first album, not saying it’s going to be the first single or the final product we hear will be the version she recorded, but that song will be on the first album.

I’m sorry, but you all are dreaming if you think a record producer or executives of major labels will let a 14 year old decide the sound of her album. Carly will be pop. Bubblegum pop sells and Carly will be selling her album next year and it will have her songs, but upbeat and dancey with dubstep. She won’t have a say until she has established herself in the music industry. So for now, look for her to release songs or an album that caters to the teen demographic. I know how desperately Carly wants to release a pop/soul album and be the next Adele or Alicia Keys, but it’s not happening until her 2nd album or her 18th birthday. I look forward to this album and the others released later because I love the tone of her voice. and I get the frustration from fans. I sometimes wish she was a little less reserved and more social towards her fans.

First of all, I’ve listened to every one of Carly’s interviews and she doesn’t keep getting the same questions. However, when she does get the same question she does answer it the same way and I’m glad she does. If she was giving different answers to the same questions I would question her character and whether or not she’s being genuine. As far as announcing her record deal, it really doesn’t matter how quickly it happens and I’m sure her side is making sure there’s a purpose behind who they sign with. And, she is definitely restricted on specific information she can share, that’s not her fault, that’s the contract’s fault she has with Syco, the contracts are very restrictive on what and how that type of information is shared publicly. The good news is she’s working on recording music and some of it is her own original music, how much will actually be on the first album…who knows. Even if it’s announced tomorrow, it’s still going to be a few months before anything is released as she’s explained that they are in pre-production…which means they’re working on arrangements of songs, etc. It’s a shame if you’re getting turned off simply because information isn’t coming out as quickly as you would like, but remember this is a young girl’s career and best they take their time and get it right. I’m a huge fan and although, as a fan, I would like to know something now, I’ll be patient and continue to listen to her covers and will be attending her concert in August. I honestly believe this young lady is going to have a huge and long lasting impact on the music world. Such an incredible voice and something really special about her….mark my words, special things are going to emerge from Carly.

It is very strange that Simon has never made a Public comment about carly

I have no idea what is going on and frankly, I don’t care. I’m not giving up on Carly and I know I’m not lalone. With the depth of this girls maturity, the quality of her singing and the experience of her management/PR team – whenever her career starts for real – I just can’t see her being ignored. …and Simon? It should not be a surprise that he has no idea what to do with true talent. He’s doing what he does best…pushing the groups who will bring him quick cash and will fade quickly. I doubt he has any interest in someone like Carly – who is in it for the long run. That would require too much work and patience.

I could be wrong , but here are my thoughts. Simon is a piece of trash, who happens to make a great deal of money selling bubble gum pop groups who appeal to the hearts and eyes of young boys and girls. They really have very little talent but they have the look needed to sell records for 1 or 2 years then disappear, which builds Simon’s fortune.
I believe Carly’s team may be waiting for the contract which they were legally bound to sign with Syco to end so they then can focus on pushing Carly’s career for the long term. She is a different entity who will do movies , albums, broadway etc, more like a Barbara Streisand.
Lets be realistic 5h has one or two decent singers at best and Camilla actually has a voice that is a cross between Dolly Parton and Donald Duck she is horrible….but they have the look that will sell records to the teenie boppers. As for 3h well there just a joke and Tate stinks.
I don’t think we will hear and firm news on Carly’s first album for 9 months or so, which is when her contract with Syco ends.
Her Mom owns of the best Marketing firm in NY and she will not let her daughter be a flash in the Pan which probably means staying away from Simon.
But I could be wrong

I could be wrong, but just maybe Carly’s family does not want Simon involved as he likes pop sh*t that makes him a quick few million. I believe you are all just anxious to see something happen,,,,,,it will probably a least 6 months to a year before anything major happens, again the family could be waiting for Carly’s contract to end as they had to sign with Him. he is not the right label for her, he is better for nonsense bubble gum pop, like E 3 and 5h quick fad groups with really only a little talent.
I really believe they are trying to stay away from Simon.
But again I could be wrong.

Paul, it is month after month on no news. Carly is very guarded when she answers her questions and she never gives out anything new .Ralphie pushed her and she would not answer. Is it because her parent are very smart or is it that there is no news? What would a record label have to lose by saying they signed Carly but she wont rush an album out? Like I said I really want to hear something good but this is kind of getting ridiculous. Simon will not even mention her name in any interviews. Don’t you think that is weird?

I feel something is wrong at this point. I could tell from the semifinals last year that simon had something against carly because he didn’t want her to win. In the finals he was very brief in addressing her and barely acknowledged her performances even though they were nothing short of phenomenal. At the time i thought it was because he’d take his time to develop her album and wouldn’t want her to be pressured by x factor winner deadlines. now i think it’s something else. i mean come on carly could outsell tate anyday. the fact that he never ever mentions her nor has made any publication that syco picked her up (we only know this through carly) is so suspicious. if he doesn’t want to be involved in her career then he should just let her go. after all she’s signed with one of the biggest agencies and can get meetings with other labels so easily

Carly’s Mother is an extremely bright and very successful business woman, who is taking her time with her daughter, they are in this for the long run.
when after 1 or 2 years 5H and the others have had there 15 minutes of fame and disappear, Carly will be working on albums, Movies and whatever else she desires and her career will last her lifetime. As for her interviews if she is asked the same questions she basically gives the same answers, that is the interviewers choice not Carly’s, your comments are not well thought out , Simon is not pushing her off, remember she is a minor and can not sign without her very bright parents advice and guidance.

You know I love Carly but every interview she so does it is the exact same questions with the exact same answers. Between Simon pushing off her career with no rainbow in sight and Carly promoting nothing, I am sad to say I am starting to be turned off. I love Carly but after the winner of season one of X factor who faded away without a record ever being cut, I feel that Simon has the same fate for Carly.
