‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3, ‘Revenge’ season 2, ‘Suburgatory’ season 3 on the way

ABCA few minutes after sharing the renewal news pertaining to “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal” (otherwise known as the land of Shonda Rhimes) along with “Nashville,” we now have some more lovely announcements … at least so long as you like some of the shows that we are about to introduce.

Let’s start off with the two shows that were at least somewhat on the bubble: “Revenge” and “Suburgatory.” Neither one necessarily hit the ratings out of the park this year, with the former especially taking a drop in the spring thanks to the worst kind of Disney magic: Scheduling woes in February. However, the writing was on the wall for “Revenge” when they bothered to name a replacement for original showrunner / creator Mike Kelley. (Why bother otherwise?) As for whether or not the same dreadful schedule will happen this year, we’re not going to know that for a time.

Now, let’s turn to the obvious. “Once Upon a Time” will of course be back for a third season despite some ratings drops of its own. Come on, you knew this would happen ever since they started developing a spin-off series set in Wonderland. Meanwhile, you knew “Modern Family” would be renewed pretty much the day it premiered. This show has the “we’ll end it when we want to end it” feel, which means that the cast is all going to probably be extremely wealthy by around the time that this happens.

This news shores up most of what the network is doing next season when it comes to dramas, though there is still the mystery of “Body of Proof” floating around out there. We can see it being canceled, just as there’s also a chance that it will get the same bone thrown to it as a mid-season replacement.

Be sure to read some more about ABC’s other renewals thus far; plus, here’s where to start your journey into Cancellationtown.
