‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 finale spoilers: Candice Accola on final few minutes

In just a week and a half now, “The Vampire Diaries” is officially going to be wrapping up its fourth season, but will it be doing so with a bang, or with something that feels a little bit more like a whimper? Based on what series star Candice Accola is saying now, it feels like we have to brace ourselves for what could be one of the most shocking endings in the history of the show.

Of course, it is hardly a surprise to see that the woman behind Caroline Forbes did not really divulge much in the way of details in a new interview with E! News. However, she did suggest that the last episode of this season could open the door to some pretty exciting developments in the future:

“We’re going to have a very dramatic season finale as the show always does … We will be closing a chapter, we might be saying goodbye to someone, but we’re going to say hello to a new beginning.”

So is the someone that the cast will be saying “goodbye” to? It’s possible that you could read this as another character being killed off, but we would personally be stunned to see that happen. After all, there have already been deaths aplenty on the show, and with Joseph Morgan and Claire Holt leaving the show for “The Originals,” they need to keep almost everyone else that they do have. Personally, we feel that Accola is referring to these two, with the former being a series regular, in particular when discussing the show’s future on The CW.
