ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5, episode 23 preview: Nathan Fillion and the conspiracy card
One of the great things about Richard Castle is his constant ability to try and find the fiction within anything, whether it comes in the form of Bigfoot, ghosts, or in this case, drones that may or may not be controlled by the government. We don’t think anyone can play paranoid quite as well as Nathan Fillion, and this is what makes Monday night’s “Castle” episode (entitled “The Human Factor”) all the more interesting.
At the center of this storyline is a mystery surrounding a drone that seemingly led to a tragic death. But here’s the question: Was someone responsible for steering the ship? If you ask Castle, he at first thought that there was some sort of “rise of the machines” situation happening with various pieces of machinery coming to life. Unfortunately for him, Beckett and the rest of the team quickly find out instead that there was someone seemingly controlling the drone, but they were doing it from a remote location.
While this revelation may have saddened the five-year old trapped in Castle’s body, Beckett did still have a rather hilarious way in order to stimulate this part of him. Basically, she makes a move while in bed with him to start some remote-controlled vehicles, which led to him trying to destroy them with a bat. After seeing this terrified / hilarious sequence of events, we’re not quite sure that we would count on Castle as a form of protection if we were in Beckett’s shoes.
