‘The Americans’ season 2 spoilers: Will Paige become more suspicious?

Earlier this week, FX’s sensational “The Americans” wrapped up its first season, and now we are tragically left with an extended period of time to try and figure out just where the series is going to go next. The show, after all, will not be back on the air until early next year, and while this is great when it comes to bringing in new viewers, it’s not exactly as exciting for those who are impatient.

Luckily, we at least have some more information when it comes to one key subject: The future of Paige and Henry. There are certain joys that of course come with being young and pretty innocent, but there is also a certain reality that has to come with it. These kids are going to become older, and sooner or later they are going to start asking questions. How long can you really expect to keep them in the dark? This is an issue that will surely continue to play a part on the series as it moves into it’s second season, and it is something that executive producer Joe Weisberg commented on in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:

“We’ve been thinking all along about the kids and what their lives are like and what kind of things, through their whole childhood, have been going on … For everyone, at some point in adolescence, you start to suspect that your parents aren’t exactly who you thought they were. Of course in Paige and Henry’s case, there’s something to it.”

While this is not necessarily a guarantee that something will happen in season 2, it is at least a recognition that there will be a point in which something happens in the future. Now, we just have to hope that people watch long enough for us to see that moment happen.
