Ratings: How ‘Nikita’ season 3, ‘Happy Endings’ fare leading up to May sweeps
On Friday, both “Hart of Dixie” and “Beauty and Beast” were officially announced as coming back for additional seasons, which was easily enough to make these fans throw themselves a little party. However, there was not so much in the way of good news concerning another CW series in “Nikita.”
Could the show still return? We’re counting on it, at least based on the early buzz that the show is likely going to receive at least a pickup of ten or so episodes similar to what “Gossip Girl” had in order to wrap things up. The network’s programming head Mark Pedowitz has said that he wants to ensure that fan favorite series all receive their proper closure, or at least the ones that have been around longer than a few episodes (sorry “Cult.”) While the show’s 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic for Friday night’s new episode doesn’t help, this is still in the range that the network really expects for the show.
As for “Happy Endings,” we have to be the bearer of bad news. Not only is this show not going to come back to ABC, but we have a hard time believing that USA is going to want to invest in a show that is pulling only 0.5 ratings. There was some promotion behind the show, and while we understand that Friday is not a great night, “Last Man Standing” was able to pull 1.4 and 1.5 ratings here earlier in the season.
“Nikita’s” season 4 fate may be decided in the weeks ahead. Considering that we have already heard some buzz about a short renewal, we would be surprised if the network waiting until the upfront later this year to make their intentions clear.
What do you think about the hopes for “Nikita” right now? As always, we want to hear some of your thoughts below.

Nikita deserves to be renewed with a 4 full season. The show has class, the cast is amazing and also always superlative in action scenes. Every episode has got a cinematographic component that make the show on a quality level different from all the other shows for teenager that Cw has in his schedules. Nikita touch on more topical points otherwise other Cw shows that talk only about vampires, monsters or vigilantes. Ratings are important but Cw should also consider the internet factor. Also Friday remain a bad day for airing. I hope Cw renew Nikita for ather 22 episodes.

Nikita should return for another full season. I’m not sure why “Hart of Dixie” and “Last Man Standing” are so popular – probably because they are brainless and mindless shows. Nikita has class – no sexuality, no profanity, and no stereotyping. Nikita has a diverse plot with a whole lot of action. It also shows compassion and the potentially good in people. Nikita shows the real world experience with “opposition in all things”. Life is not all about sex and jokes (aka Hart of Dixie and Last Man Standing). Even though Nikita employs fantastical elements, its real world effects respond to humanity’s sense of good and its need to overcome evil no matter the ultimate sacrifice and consequences. Nikita also shows the human side in individual character humor. I cry one minute and laugh the next. My favorite lines on “Self-Destruct” are, “Rebuild a decade’s worth of hacks in a couple of days? I’m flattered, but I ain’t that good” and “I’m sorry”. Moving Nikita to a new day and time may solicit a larger, broader audience. Please give it all you’ve got. Nikita is a great show and deserves a standing ovation.

With NO NFL Draft or NO NBA Playoffs I am sure Nikita would have did higher than 0.3 Having them for a shortened season 4 is a discredit to a WONDERFUL show…This show has it all!!!!!
