‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 21 review: Did Alex finally admit the truth?
It took us a long time to get there, but on Thursday night’s “Grey’s Anatomy” episode, our dear Dr. Alex Karev finally came to a key revelation: He really does love Jo. The problem? He’s probably ruined his chances of ever being with her thanks to some of his own actions.
First, Alex has spent much of the past few weeks being completely awful to Jo’s boyfriend, and this time around, he managed to take it up yet another notch by deciding to tell him some of Jo’s personal information that she hadn’t shared with him yet. Jo’s response? That he should never talk to her again, and we don’t know how he is going to come back from this. The unfortunate thing about this is that he didn’t realize the true extent of his feelings until after this moment occurred.
As for the rest of the episode, we learned a few other important things, whether it be that Meredith wants Cristina with her as she gives birth, that Cristina is very worried about her relationship with Owen in the future, and that Owen had to tell some very distressing news to young Ethan. As for the Dr. Bailey story that was so hyped, Chandra Wilson did some great work as she came to terms with the fact that she was behind the accidental deaths of two patients. She also was put into a situation where she had to lash out at Webber for abandoning her, even though she was there for him so many years beforehand when he was going through problems. Like with Alex, we only hope that Bailey can find a way to bounce back.
