‘Dexter’ season 8 promo: Now with a hint of jazz
After long keeping a lid on the eighth and final season of “Dexter,” Showtime is being very generous at the moment. How much so? Let’s just say that they have just released yet another promo, and this one (via TVLine) really takes a look back at some of the character’s best moments.
While those of you looking for plot spoilers are almost sure to be disappointed by some of the content of this one, it’s a nostalgia fan’s dream. There are reminders of the Trinity Killer, Deb finding out his secret, and of course the epic and sad shooting of Captain LaGuerta at the end of last season. Dexter also makes it clear that he is in the process of composing his “final symphony,” a clear nod to the fact that the upcoming 12 episodes will indeed be the end.
Given that they only have limited time left to wrap up everything, it is fair to wonder just what the folks at Showtime are going to do. Ultimately, we expect there to be some more deaths, especially since you have to ask yourself the following question in all seriousness: Is there any way that Showtime is going to close this story with a happy ending for Dexter? We don’t think Dexter at this point could be redeemed, but he’s also not asking for it.
The final season starts on Sunday, June 30 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time, and it will be paired up with the new drama “Ray Donovan.” What do you think about this “Dexter” video?
