‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 finale spoilers: Will Elena, Damon see the last of Silas?
If you look by and large at the whole of television, there is one thing that has a tendency to stay constant: The “big bad theory,” as we like to call it. Every season, a show introduces a new villain to help push the story and some of the characters, only to later find a way to kill them off by the time the finale rolls around.
However, if there is one show that has changed this mold over the years, it is “The Vampire Diaries.” They introduced Klaus during season 2, and now the guy is actually getting his own spin-off show in “The Originals.” In addition to that, we also have Katherine, who has been around since before Klaus’ name was ever uttered.
So is Silas, without a doubt the biggest villain introduced this season, going to find a way to survive? Based on what Julie Plec said recently to TV Guide, it seems as though this guy may have yet again found a way to keep hanging in there:
“When the season is over, it’s pretty clear that they haven’t seen the last threat from this guy.”
To us, that suggests as though Silas will find a way to keep wandering the earth … but who knows? It’s possible that he could just be put into a slumber for a while, only to return at a later date. One of the beauties of “The Vampire Diaries” is that the supernatural element yields for all sorts of interesting possibilities. The sad thing is that Elena, Caroline, and some of the other characters are going to have to graduate with this on their mind.
What do you think: should the Silas story bleed into season 5? If you want to watch a sneak peek for “The Originals,” you can do so here.
