‘Nikita’ season 3 renewal: Is a 10-episode season 4 increasingly likely?
Every network seems to have their own bubble show these days, where devoted fans go through just about everything imaginable in order to convince the network to bring it back. For many years on NBC, that show was “Chuck.” Meanwhile, Fox just went through something similar in “Fringe,” and CBS even had nuts sent to them by a group of avid “Jericho” fans.
So does any of this really mean anything when it comes to the prospects of “Nikita” sticking around? Not really, but it should be noted that all of the shows listed received a second chance, and two out of the three were actually allowed to end in the way that by and large satisfied their fans.
Now, TVLine is reporting that the Maggie Q series is likely to be picked up for a fourth season based on everything that is going on at The CW, with the only major caveat being thrown in here being that this season is expected to run for around ten episodes. While it is not confirmed that this would be the final season, odds are certainly pointing that way given that the show is hardly much of a ratings warrior.
While we know that “Nikita” fans would much rather see 22 episodes than 10 (especially after some of the stunning developments of this past episode), isn’t it better to have a little bit more of something that nothing at all? At the end of the day, it is at least nice that the show is probably going to have an opportunity to end in a way that will please the fans.
Do you think that “Nikita” should come back, even for a season of just ten episodes? If you want to also read some more news about recent “Nikita” ratings, you can do so over at the link here.

After being in the music business since 1969, I know the need for promoting and publicizing your artists. The CW doesn’t do a good job of that. Nikita’s cast member’s should be on every kind of TV show available promoting theirselves and their show. The CW is not CBS. Do something for the stars. Build their name and reputation so everyone will scramble to see the CW Stockpile of television shows like Nikita. Please keep it on, its one of the best shows on television.

so its rating aren’t in the 2-3 million marks, so what, its decent ratings and fans do like it. i’m not sure how many fans are going to be thrilled with last week’s losing Sean so the Salex fans aren’t happy..The CW has kept other shows in the 1 million ratings and it was fine. that 8pm Friday time slot is tough, but I can understand why having it on Wednesdays with Arrow would be kind of weird, Arrow is more like Superhero while Nikita is a Dark drama. I’m only surprised it took nearly 3 months to finally see that Cult wasn’t good. Maybe the network needs to try Nikita on a new night again and see if it helps ratings a bit if we get a season 4. I think a 10 episode season on a show like this with all its plots is pointless, how can you possibly fit a whole plot with mini plots worked into it into 10 episodes?

I have no idea why when you’re on the verge of syndication you wouldn’t renew it for a full season. Give it another full season and pair it with a bigger hit show (Arrow) and take it out of the f-ing graveyard slot. It’s ridiculous! Stop canceling the shows, give them a better timeslot and see what happens. Oh wow! What an idea? There MAY ACTUALLY BE an alternative OTHER THAN cancellation or giving it a final “shortened season”. WHO KNEW? It also gets cheaper to produce I thought when it’s in syndication? Then you could keep going with it hopefully becoming a hit again. Whatever, my favorite and one of the best shows on television according to, yes, CRITICS, why would it actually be successful and find an audience? I guess in this day & age that’s too much to ask. First the show pisses us off with the depressing, awful and never necessary “killing of a major character everyone loves” last episode then there’s the threat of no renewal or a pitiful amount of episodes. Do the slaps in the face to fans of television and on the internet NEVER end? Sure I hated what happened but I still want my favorite show to be on forever. I mean, I know nothing will ever be better than Nikita for me, I know myself too well. Whatever. As long as it has finality, but I’ll always remember that it could never be “perfect”. There always had to be, “well I didn’t like when that happened”, or yeah it was good “while it lasted”. *heavy & depressed sigh
