‘The X Factor’ USA / UK: Fifth Harmony news, and a voting change
We’re going to start off our “X Factor” article this time around with an announcement for all the Tate Stevens fans out there: we’re chatting with him Thursday! We’ll hopefully have a good interview from the reigning champ up on the site by this weekend pending a last-minute schedule change, so be on the lookout for that.
With that, it seems like the perfect segue into what is happening with Fifth Harmony in the studio. In a post on Twitter, the ladies confirmed that they spent some time in the studio Wednesday with the Sarasota-based trio Boyce Avenue. In case you haven’t heard any of the tunes that they have worked on in the past, check out their recent cover of the Maroon 5 track “Daylight.”
In shifting over to the UK series, we also want to talk about the rumors floating around the internet that the results are going to actually be revealed live as they were in America this past season. Will this actually happen? We hope not, given that this was one of the worst things about season 2 in the US. It completely took the drama out of Tate’s win, since you knew already that he was a beast who was either in the first or second spot all season. We like how they release all of the results (including percentages) at the end of the season, that way you can comb back over all of them.
What do you think about this proposed change? If you want to check out the latest “X Factor” judging rumors from across the pond, be sure to head on over to the link here.

Really not impressed with E3’s first single. I bought it anyway just to show my support but I’m honestly anticipating Fifth Harmony’s more than anybody! They’ve been working with some amazing writers and producers and all of them have said their album is going to be really good. Just another month or 2 until they release their first single!

@Viloa M. I think that Simin made sure that Emblem3 wasn’t going to the finals because he knew that they didn’t NEED to go and he was right, Emblem3 have gained so many fans, and still are gaining fans thanks to the radio playing Chloe. I don’t think that Fifth Harmony would be as big as they are now if they didn’t go to the finals. Simon knew that girl groups never last as long as male groups so he decided to get Fifth Harmony more publicity.

No doubt to get them more views. Strategy: get 5H’s video on boyce avenue’s youtube channel so more people will discover 5H. I don’t care for 5h or boyce ave (who are just cover artists like cimeroelli, the girl group). I mean can they sing their own songs? And the ranking is cool I don’t have a problem with it because it shows how Simon is rigging it. I mean everyone thought Emblem3 was going throught BUT when Simon said ” maybe you girls will make it, anything could happen” I said Oh no. Simon is gonna fix it. Sure enough when I heard 5H go through I knew E3 was going home. No way was Carly or Tate going home. Simon is a good actor. He sold that shocked look pretty well. That ranking thing showed that Emblem3 was getting more votes and then all of a sudden 5H came out of nowhere. I think simon wanted 5H in the final all along. Simon cowell is smart..put two teen girl acts against each other in the final so they could cancel each other out so cowboy can win it all. Jeez wish Emblem3 could collab with someone big. So they could get more fans and views.

Oh dear just to let you know BOYCE AVENUE have 2 original albums of a very high standard so please dont call them cover artists, they do covers to keep their popularity up as they do not go on TV and Radio thats all, and their fans love both covers and originals.

I hope they continue to show the rankings for the US version, but perhaps not reveal who is in the Bottom 3 and the Top 2 or something just to make things more secretive, and I hope that they only do the rankings for the first few live episodes and then stop, because at the beginning, the information was very informative, but eventually it just became bothersome because it made it very clear who was going to win.

I’ve watched this 20 times since it was first posted on their channel and just now noticed Alejandro is wearing a shirt from their own clothing line, go figure. Next to Maroon 5, Boyce Avenue is one of my favorite bands. They represent everything that’s good about the music industry today, artistry….humility…integrity. The Fifth Harmony / Boyce Avenue collaboration was a live, professionally shot and recorded session. Fifth Harmony fans need to discover Boyce Avenue and visa versa, but with Boyce Avenue having 2.9 million subscribers to Fifth Harmony’s now 100k, I hope the video lands on the Boyce Avenue YouTube channel where more people will see it.

TBH, I hated the ranking system. It made other fandoms hate each other. And it seemed to bother some of the contestants that they were always at the bottom in voting (Beatrice and Arin, but mostly Bea who had the shrug and disgusted look on her face). This was my last time watching x factor usa. I’ve been disappointed twice in the winner. Even though 5H and some of the other contestants eventually got signed, I just think producers had a lot of say in who wins and those of us who vote at home–our vote doesn’t matter. It will not matter until there is transparency. Let’s see the actual tally of votes. Like verizon can release their #’s and then x factor can release their #’s. Otherwise the show is fixed. I’ll watch if 5H goes back to perform on the show. Or Jennel and Carly. Otherwise I am done watching that show.
