ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: What’s next for Fitz, Olivia, and Jake
Have you found some of the storylines regarding the “Scandal” love triangle to be rather strange as of late? Well, they are about to become even stranger. One week after the show returns to the air on May 2, we will have an episode entitled “A Woman Scorned” directed by none other than actor Tony Goldwyn. What will make this episode even more interesting is that Goldwyn’s own character of Fitz is going to yet again insist that Jake stay close to Olivia, even though there is some sort of romantic dynamic going on between the two of them.
To make matters all the more complicated, the official synopsis for the hour makes it very clear that the storyline regarding the mole is going to once again be very much in play:
“The team continue their investigation into the mole and make a shocking discovery in the process. Meanwhile Fitz orders Jake to continue to protect Olivia, who is still very much in danger, and back at the White House Mellie’s ultimatum forces Cyrus into the role of ‘fixer.'”
Now, the only question that is really up for the debate is just what exactly Mellie is going to do with an “ultimatum” that ends up causing so many problems. We’re sure it does involve Fitz, just as it may also include a few provisions to ensure that she has some sort of power even as the First Lady. (We should really know by now that Mellie is not someone who likes to be silenced.)
How strange do you find Fitz at the moment? If you want to check out some new photos for next Thursday’s new “Scandal” episode, which includes a rather hairy flashback photo of Huck, be sure to hit up the story over here.

Lets end the season with Olivia and Fitzgerald working it out. And making plans for a second term. Milie can move on but still be in the show. Jake needs to GO away. Olivia has to find out how he used her.

I find the fact that anyone would recommend Olivia continuing a relationship with Jake, a man who has lied to her and SPIED on her FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, nauseating.
AT NO POINT was this ever a healthy relationship. He lied his way into her affections, pressured her into bed and killed and framed someone.
I have some sympathy for Fitz based on the fact that Olivia et al participated in a conspiracy that got him shot FOUR TIMES, but this isn’t even ABOUT Fitz.
I didn’t object to Edison in the same way as Jake. He was a bore, but at least he was decent.
This relationship with Jake is sick and unrealistic for a woman of Olivia’s supposed intelligence.
‘There’s something off about him but I’m going with it anyway’???
Who DOES that?
What message is this supposed to send to impressionable young women, that dating a STALKER is better than dating a married man?
And before anyone asks, I consider him a stalker because he decided to bed his subject either to manipulate her or because his ego convinced him he could ‘make her happy’.
Egotism and obsessiveness in one creepy package.
And to all those moaning about Fitz still being married, who fixed that for him?
Olivia, that’s who.
I can’t even watch this show anymore, not as long as Jake is around, and if he stays too long I may fall out of the habit permanently.
I’m almost there already.

Recall lies and stolen moments are NOT love. You have nothing – Liv’s speech to Will who had slept with his brother’s wife for 10 years. Fitz has abused both his wife and his mistress. Olivia should keep going with her relationship with Jake and see where it goes. He’s hotter, sexier and prettier than Fitz and more importantly he’s single and available and NO KIDS!

I LOVE this show Scandal. I had just about stopped watching television because, I found so very little of intelligent entertainment BUT, Scandal makes me tune in on Thursdays; I even recently bought the DVD of the first Season, and I have never before bought a DVD of a TV Show. CAN’T WAIT UNTIL DVD FOR SECOND SEASON IS AVAILABLE!! Even though I’ve watched all the TV episodes I so adore Scandal, I’ve just got to own it in my library!
I LOVE Fritz and Olivia’s romance, it’s what so entranced me to addict me to Scandal and keeps me attached to the show along with all the fabulous acting of many other actors and the outstanding writing.
I like Jake very much, he is exciting and brings additional spice to the show. I can’t wait to see how this “triangle” between Jake, Fitz and Olivia will turn out. I truly hope Jake remains for a long time in the show BUT FITZ AND OLIVIA are my main romance delight!!!!

@Melissa: Sorry..but if Freud were here..he would diagnose you with Neurosis..women who usually faint when they can’t come to terms with reality..situations on “Scandal is not overplayed”. It may not happen to the President himself..but hey..it happens in our society..Play it on Shonda… Play it on..These situations are issues that Judy Smith deals with in her everyday life…our lives. Besides, issues from the news are pencilled in..relax and enjoy da ride..I promise you won’t have to pay for therapy..it is free. it is also an escape from your everyday bills..makes me forget that I have so much bills to pay..who do I run to? Scandal..it is an escape for me..plus, it makes me a better writer. I am catching on fast.

Having a relationship with a married man is not over played…this has been happening in the midst of our society long before “Sally and Jefferson”..it still lives on. So is Shonda over-playing life’s processes? All that you see happening on Scandal..is a life long Scandal. We live eat and breath all of this..it becomes us..it is us.. If Freud were alive he would call this in women “Neurosis”..you faint because you are definately in denial..get a hold of your self..and while you are at it..find yourself a couch..you may want to faint for the rest of the season..Get some smelling sauce..turn ur Ac or Fan on..and get ready for the “Scandalous” ride..

I hope Jake becomes a permanent cast because he’s a fantastic actor. He brings a lot of excitement to Scandal. Fitz and Olivia affair backfires in the most shameful and downright sick way. Fitz has demoralized Olivia to the point of a “WHORE”. If Olivia wants to continue to be (Fitz’s) Whore/mistress, I don’t care that’s her decision, but Jake needs to become a permanent cast.

I so hope and pray Jake becomes a permanent character on Scandal. Scott Foley is ONE of my favorite actors. And after Liv, he’s my favorite Scandal character. He really brings the FLAVA!

Please, Please bring Liv and Fitz back together. Their love affair was a big reason I watched the show.

No – please don’t split Fitz and Olivia. I was lured into this series by their love affair, now, Shonda is making a mess of their lives. It sucks.

I like Jake and Olivia. I totally hope this affair is with a married man is so over. It’s starting to get despicable. So over played and over done. Hope, Shonda Rhimes move on to new beginnings.

Olitz is dead to me. What Fitz said to Liv after he pulled her into that hall closet was so low down – there are no words. And he had the nerve to tell Liv in her hospital room “you don’t dismiss me” – Fitz needs to work it out with his wife.
