‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 finale spoilers: Shonda Rhimes confirms the ‘day’ is here

If there is one place on “Grey’s Anatomy” that is sure to almost always bring some tears, it is at the table read for the season finale. These are, after all, the episodes that feature everything from death to departures, and last year we ended up saying goodbye to Lexie, and also had the stage set to wave goodbye to Mark.

So what is going to happen this time around? Even though the cast members are going to sit down together with the script today for the first time (as confirmed by Shonda Rhimes on Twitter), don’t expect them to be spilling anything at all. This is a secret that will be kept as tightly as buried treasure to a pirate, and even days before the finale most of this will still be under wraps.

Based on the information that we do have, there are a couple of things that you may be able to assume about the episode as a whole:

1. The finale was changed about as close to the last-minute as possible. It was originally supposed to be pretty low-key compared to the plane crash, but who knows what is happening now?

2. There may not be resolution, but expect some attention given to the following things: Bailey’s job status, Jackson and Avery, Jo and Alex, Meredith’s baby, and whether or not Cristina and Owen can figure out the whole “child problem” that previously plagued their relationship.
