‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Scoop on Mulan, Ariel, ‘Wonderland’ spinoff
Even though there is no new episode of “Once Upon a Time” season 2 Sunday, there is a look behind the scenes airing that will give you an opportunity to actually check out executive producer Adam Horowitz on TV. In addition to that, the showrunner, who is always one to give back to fans online, chose to answer a few Twitter questions following the completion of the “Wonderland” spin-off presentation and his trip back from Vancouver.
First of all, Horowitz confirmed that we will see more of Aurora and Mulan together again on screen before the end of the season, which is great news considering that they have been absent for much of the second part of the season. (Considering that Jamie Chung has a pilot over on NBC, it could also be one of the last real opportunities that we have.)
Horowitz also confirmed that we are going to see even more of Captain Hook, and some confrontations between Regina and Emma Swan before the spring is over.
As for looking towards the future, he seems to still be very much on board with the idea of bringing the Little Mermaid on board someday; after all, he responded “we love Ariel” to a question about the character. (We imagine budget and finding the right story to be the two biggest roadblocks right now.) This could be on the table for season 3, and we already know for sure that we will be meeting Peter Pan.
In closing, Horowitz says that the “Wonderland” spin-off is now in ABC’s hands. We expect it to be a contender for around a 13-episode order along with a few other shows, and we actually do envision this as something the network may be willing to give a shot to. After all, they still have the flagship show to fall back on if it doesn’t work.
