‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Homeland’ actor cast to play Silas
If you remember back when Klaus was cast on “The Vampire Diaries” season 4, it happened following what was an incredibly extensive and public search to find the right person for the role. Now, we know just who is going to be playing the real form of the ancient Silas … though it is not believed that the real physical form of this character is going to play nearly as significant of a role.
The CW has confirmed that lesser-known actor Scott Parks, whose credit includes a brief stint on Showtime’s “Homeland,” has bagged the role of Silas and will be appearing in at least one episode moving forward before the end of the season. The difference between him and Klaus, though, is that Silas is likely to have spent most of his time just drifting between one role and the next on the show in order to confuse some of the other characters.
For much of the latter half of this season, Silas has functioned in many ways as a sort of Big Bad character to some of the vampires and other residents of Mystic Falls. However, he is not the only person that they have to watch out for, as the show has also seen a major transformation in Nina Dobrev’s Elena. If she continues to lose more and more of her humanity, this could mean very bad things for everyone else in Mystic Falls.
Do you think it is a good thing that we are going to actually see the real physical form of Silas, or is there a part of you that actually preferred having his identity remain a little bit of a mystery?
