‘New Girl’ season 2, episode 22 review: Cece’s bizarre bachelorette party

On Tuesday night’s “New Girl” episode, we saw what could basically be best described as one of the most hilarious awkward bachelorette and bachelor parties in existence. They were in so many ways doomed almost to fail from the get-go. After all, did you really think that things were going to go well for Cece when her dream party (as thrown by Jess) was ruined by the fact that she had one of her fiance’s aunts with here?

What made this story so entertaining was mostly Jess’ attempts to try to convince this woman that Cece was not nearly as filthy as some of the photos suggested, mostly because she was so worried that it was going to end up scaring the family away. Instead, she actually ended up being rather cool, and she didn’t even mind seeing a photo that she thought was of his junk. (It was actually of Nick’s, and he did this at the “bachelor party” set up to try to get a photo to pass along.)

As for Schmidt’s story, he was clearly upset about the fact that he didn’t get a plus-one to the wedding, and he had to find a way to get one to make her jealousy. The part of the story that really surprised us the most was seeing that while Schmidt can be hilarious at times, there is also a seriously dark side to the guy he has become. Seeing how heartbroken his ex Elizabeth was over the breakup, he mostly became a jerk to her after he lost all of the weight, was not easy to watch, and it made you really wonder if New Schmidt is even remotely the man that Fat Schmidt was.
