‘So You Think You Can Dance’ season 10 announces two-night premiere
When “So You Think You Can Dance” launches its tenth season in May, they are going to be doing so with one simple hope in mind: trying to use as many lead-ins as they possibly can in order to make this season a success. Last year, the show was a little bit off in between the Olympics and the Fourth of July each delaying Wednesday-night performance shows, so hopefully Nigel Lythgoe and company will be able to secure a little bit more momentum for themselves this time around.
Let’s start first and foremost with the following: the show will premiere on Tuesday, May 14, and is going to launch out of a new episode of the high-rated “Hell’s Kitchen.” Meanwhile, there will be another hour of the show that airs the following night after the best lead-in of them all in “American Idol.” If nothing else, you have to give Fox credit for trying to give the show just about every chance imaginable to succeed.
If we could tell you why “So You Think You Can Dance” is a show worth checking out, the answer is simple: it’s just a wonderful showcase of what dancing should really be about on TV. The performers are generally more accomplished than other reality shows, and this is truly something that is a labor of love. You don’t go on this show hoping to be the next superstar; you go to express your creativity, and then hope you can just end up making a living doing what you love.
