‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: ‘American Horror Story’ star returns

When you consider that we are starting to get near the wedding on “How I Met Your Mother” season 8, doesn’t this mean that we are going to start seeing a few more details about this actual event come out? This is where the story that we are writing now comes into play. While we don’t know yet if we are going to be seeing either John Lithgow or Wayne Brady return this season as Barney’s father or half-brother, the upcoming 22nd episode of this season (airing on Monday, April 29) is going to once again feature the return of his mother.

Admittedly, Frances Conroy has certainly become busier as of late, in between arcs on “American Horror Story” and an upcoming gig on “Royal Pains.” Nonetheless, she has been able to squeeze at least this one episode into her schedule, and she will be joined by someone rather surprising: Ralph Macchio, who is guest-starring as himself.

This episode is entitled “The Bro Mitzvah,” and rumor has it that this will be one that features Barney heading back to Atlantic City. Remember what happened the last time he was there? Well, now that he is having a bachelor party, it’s fair to say we will see more of a certain game that nobody else seems to understand other than him and a few people who don’t speak English.

There are two episodes of “How I Met Your Mother” left to air after this one, so who knows, maybe these will help to shed a little bit of light on who else will be attending the wedding.
